How do you react when adversity knocks at your door?
Once upon a time, a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and she didn’t know how to live it. She was always fighting and tired of fighting.
One problem was solved. The cook’s father took her into the kitchen, he filled three pots with water and put each one on high heat. As soon as the three pots began to boil, I added potatoes to one pot, eggs to the second, and ground coffee beans to the third.
Then, without saying a word to her daughter, he let her sit down and cook. Her daughter moaned and she waited impatiently to see what she was doing. Twenty minutes later he turned off the burner. He took the potatoes out of the pot and put them in a bowl.
He took out a boiled egg and put it in a bowl. Then he scooped the coffee into a cup. he turned to her and asked. “Daughter, what do you see?””Look carefully,” he said. She did so and found them soft. Then he asked her to take the egg and break it. She peeled the shell and saw a hard-boiled egg. Finally, he asked her to drink coffee.
Its rich scent put a smile on her face. “Dad, what do you mean?” she asked. He then explained that potatoes, eggs and coffee beans all faced the same adversity. It’s boiling water. But everyone reacted differently. Potatoes were strong, hard and went on relentlessly, but softened and weakened in boiling water.
The egg was fragile and had a thin outer shell that protected the liquid inside until it was placed in boiling water. Then the inside of the egg hardened. But the ground coffee beans were unique. After being exposed to boiling water, they changed the water to make a new one. “Who are you?” he asked his daughter.
“How do you react when adversity knocks at your door? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?
